My Journey

Updates

So much has happened since my last post, and I do apologize for not posting. It seems like the last six months have flown by in a blur. Between health issues, moving, and making a final decision about my career, I have been preoccupied.

My blood sugar has been unmanageable, plus with not being able to afford my insulin, it has been worse.

As of June 3rd, 2024, I will no longer be teaching. If anything, I’ll take a year off, but I just don’t know if I can go back to teaching. It is too much on my health at the moment with the stress, and I feel like I need to focus on reducing some of the stress in my life.

To walk away from teaching after eleven years is a huge step for me. I’m not sure what will happen, or what will be my next steps; I just know that I cannot go back into the classroom right now.

I’ve also moved during this time. My son bought me a house.

Well, not a house. It’s a mobile home.

A mobile home that needed a lot of work.

Okay, a ton of work.

I plan to make posts about that soon. I recently moved into my home, but we are still in the process of remodeling. My office is currently missing walls. The outside walls are in tact, but we decided to combine two bedrooms and reduce a bathroom to create the studio space that is perfect for me. The same goes for the kitchen. I will be remodeling it, as well. I want to create the perfect cooking space and plan to upload videos to go along with my blogs and recipes. It’s an exciting time!

Stay tuned as I bring my remodeling efforts.

I am a southern girl born and raised in South Carolina. I grew up knowing I wanted to become a writer. When I'm not teaching middle school ELA, I'm either writing for my blogs or writing books.

For the most part, I'm usually sweet, always sassy with a side of sarcasm, and definitely Southern.
