For gift giving or even for easy dessert trays at parties, there are several go to treats that I always use. They make perfect candy treats for treat boxes and are super easy to pull together.
- Chocolate Covered Pretzels: Use CandyQuick in either the vanilla or chocolate (or even use any flavor of chocolate chips), melt it down, and dip mini pretzels into the candy coating. Allow to set on wax paper and then store them in plastic storage bags until ready to give or display. If you want to be super fancy, you can even drizzle the alternate coating across to make them even fancier.
- Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods: These are similar to the Chocolate Covered Pretzels above, but you can use anything from chopped nuts, chopped peppermints, chopped candies, or sprinkles to roll these in or sprinkle on them before setting them aside for the candy coating to harden.
- Chocolate Covered Ritz Crackers: There is nothing better than peanut butter Ritz Crackers… except maybe chocolate covered Peanut Butter Ritz Crackers. Using the CandyQuick coating, melt it down, and dip peanut butter crackers into the mix before setting on wax paper to harden.
- Chocolate Covered Potato Chips: Using the CandyQuick, you can also coat half of a potato chip. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty. You can even top just like you would the pretzel rods with chopped nuts or chopped candies. Drizzle with alternating candy coating for extra decor. I prefer to use the sturdier Pringles or Lays chips for this, but the Wavy chips can also be used.
- Chocolate Covered Strawberries: While berries may be out of season for Christmas, they do make the perfect dippable fruit for chocolate and would complete any dessert tray.
I usually try to add some of these quicker candies in with my usual Buckeyes and Maple Creams to provide a variety. They are generally super quick to complete, and while you have the candy coating ready, you may as well dip a few other treats. What are some things that you like to dip in the candy coating during the holidays?
