When it comes to coffee, I’m pretty much a snob. I had a friend who introduced me to French Roast, and thought, this is awesome, and for a long time, that was my preferred fave. That is, until I started working in this little town where I stopped regularly for coffee every morning, and started to try their different brews. It didn’t take me long to realize that I preferred a dark roast over a medium or light roast.

Fast forward and I found Folger’s Black Silk. It’s not bitter. It’s smooth. I can drink it black without needing to add a splash of cream. And of course, there is no back note of smoke like you get when you drink the French Roast.

But of course, I have a friend who always would show what he was drinking on social media, and he talked up Death Wish Coffee. I kept saying I was going to try it, but I never did.

Then, this past April, I was at a friend’s house and they purchased some of the Death Wish Coffee and let me try it. It truly rivaled my hands down favorite of Folger’s Black Silk. It was strong, but still had a smoothness. It passed the straight up black test. No creamer, no sugar, just pure unadulterated coffee. It was a pleasant surprise and is now my favorite coffee.

It is a dark roast, like I prefer, plus it has an extra kick of caffeine. It is divine, especially since I have to limit my coffee intake to no more than 1 hot cup of coffee a day due to stomach issues.

That’s okay. I’ll still enjoy it each chance I get!
